## MIT template code

The root LICENSE covers template HTML/CSS/JavaScript, original blank SVG placeholders in `assets/`, generated generic Europe flags, and the original synthesized `world-map/assets/atlas-ambient.wav` loop. Copyright 2026 Vincent De Nil. Example content listed below is not granted a new MIT license merely by its inclusion in this repository.

## Leaflet 1.9.4 — BSD 2-Clause

`vendor/leaflet.js`, `vendor/leaflet.css`, and `vendor/images/` are Leaflet distributions. Their full license is preserved in `vendor/leaflet-LICENSE`. See https://leafletjs.com/.

## Leaflet-Geoman — MIT

`vendor/geoman.js` and `vendor/geoman.css` provide the polygon editing tools. Their full license is preserved in `vendor/geoman-LICENSE`. These files are copied unchanged from the source American Kingdoms repository. See https://geoman.io/.

## Natural Earth and US Census geography

Natural Earth geography is public domain: https://www.naturalearthdata.com/about/terms-of-use/.

The blank land layer and physical North America layers originate in the American Kingdoms repository's Natural Earth source/data files. Modern Massachusetts county boundaries and some reference boundaries are based on US Census Bureau data. ## American Kingdoms examples

`examples/american-kingdoms/assets/`, the North America fictional atlas data, associated heraldry copied into `world-map/assets/flags/`, and fictional county titles are included as placeholder/example content at the project owner's request. Artwork, photographs, branding, lore, and other creative material retain their respective owners' rights. This repository does not extend the code's MIT license to that material. Replace these examples with your own assets, or obtain any necessary permission for their reuse. Example YouTube media remain hosted on YouTube; only thumbnails and click-to-play links are included.

## Supplied Europe reference

`world-map/assets/europe-reference.webp` and `europe-reference-lite.webp` are optimized copies of the user-supplied “Worldbuilding Map Base - Europe Kaiserreich & 1914.jpg”. Europe territory outlines are approximate derivatives traced from that reference. The reference and derived example map content retain their source rights; no blanket MIT grant is asserted for them.

The Europe 1936 map is illustrative, not a canonical reconstruction. No affiliation with or endorsement by the Kaiserreich project is implied. Generic example flags were newly created for the template, not copied from Kaiserreich.

## Example links and services

Homepage links to American Kingdoms, Kaiser Cat Collective, wiki pages, videos, and stores demonstrate the original site structure. Replace them for your own project. The newsletter demonstration transmits no data. Map music is an original placeholder loop; the American Kingdoms site's third-party recordings are not bundled.
